So you worked hard, scored good marks, and got placed in an established company, only to turn into a robot who is too tired to even have weekend plans? Well, that's just the beginning of professional burnout, which is a fancy term that people use to describe long-term exhaustion and lessened professional interest.

Here are some signs that tell you that you are going to encounter this phase in your professional career.

1. Fear of failed deadlines
Are you always found on your chair, hopelessly waiting for the never-ending work to finish? Just because you are afraid that you won't be able to meet your deadline, or that you would forget to do something or the other in your project. Beware, you are nearing the burnout zone.

2. Indifference from the job
You loved your job when you started working, but now you feel indifferent towards it. You don't look forward to coming to office, you have stopped coming up with innovative ideas, and those email alerts just give you goose bumps. You have inched a step closer to the burnout zone.

3. Insomnia
You don't love your job, but you have started to lose sleep over office worries, and thus are always perpetually tired. It is not just a sign of burnout, but also bad health. Take caution!

4. No social life
As we said, if you are too tired of making plans even for weekends, you are approaching a worrisome situation in your professional life. It is not a good sign for your mental peace; it's also not a good sign for your relationships, which one should always value more than your professional life.

5. Temper traps
You can't keep calm even over the smallest of things? Red alert! You are already there in the professional burnout zone, which is so-not-good. While anger is a major part of this, you can also experience emotions like rage, sarcasm, and cynicism in your daily life, and nobody but you knows that you didn't mean to do what you did or say what you said.

If you are experiencing these issues or are starting to experience them, it's time for you to either take a long vacation or a sabbatical from work.
