Don't you love the incense when you enter a luxurious hotel room? It makes you forget your own home for a few minutes. Won't you like your home to emit a similar fragrance, so that you long to get back home after a tiring day at work?
Here are some DIY ideas to help you male air fresheners that would make your home smell good, all the time.
1. Potpourri
You would have seen them in departmental stores, often wondering what they are and how they work. Take a packet of potpourri, add the essential oil of your choice to it and close them in a container for a week. After this, spread them out in a bowl or plate and enjoy the fragrance.
2. Scented Balls
For your car, bathroom or closet, take a small pouch made of cloth, cotton balls, scented oils, and incense sticks. Soak the cotton balls in the oil and put them in the pouch before hanging it. Change the cotton balls from time to time to enjoy the fragrance.
3. Lemon and Rosemary
Take a cup and fill it with 2/3rd portion of water. Add a sliced lemon, a few twigs of rosemary and half tsp of vanilla. Boil the mixture on low flame for a good few hours till it starts filling the room with a fragrance unmatched. This would last for 2 days, so it's better to make this mixture when someone special is coming.
4. Scented Wood Blocks
For this, you would need wood blocks, scented oil or perfume of your choice, and small paint brushes or spray cans. It's your choice to either paint the blocks or spray them, all you have to do is to immerse the wood blocks in the oil or perfume. Let the blocks sit in some more oil overnight and keep them in a closed container. Whenever one block runs out of the fragrance, take a new one out from the box.
5. Indoor Plants
Lastly, take the help of nature to freshen up the air in your house. Indoor plants, like Scented Geraniums and Arabian Jasmines, are very helpful in keeping the air fragrant and can be kept in room without having to be maintained regularly.
