Everything You Need To Know About Dating Etiquettes

In the dating world, the word gentleman has got a different meaning. To qualify as one, you need to be very sure about your clothes, your conduct and your behavior before, during and after the date. Similarly, to be called the perfect lady by your date, one has to be particularly graceful and courteous.

Here is a list of everything you need to know about dating etiquettes, for both men and women.

For Men

1. You have to be particular about your appearance, and we don't only mean clothes. Your nails should be clipped, your hair shouldn't be a mess and the color of your belt should match that of your socks. Even if you don't like dressing up, it would be a welcome change for your partner who has agreed to go on a date with you.

2. While we agree that you do look cool in a tee, dating is a man's game, for which you should be wearing a crisp ironed shirt.

3. Needless to say, open the gate of the car (if you are travelling together or you see her car coming) and drag the lady a chair.

4. Be interested in knowing more about her than telling her about yourself. That being said, you don't have to come across only as a listener. It's important to see this as an interaction, and not a lecture.

5. If the onus of deciding the venue of your date has fallen on you, you need to be sure that the place you are carrying her to is filled with fun and good vibes. It doesn't always have to be a top-class restaurant, but good ambience is a must.

For Women

1. Offer to pay, or at least, carry enough cash with you to pay for your share.

2. If you are sure that your date won't let you pay, order carefully, keeping in mind the rates of the things that you order. You don't want your next date to be at a tea corner, do you?

3. If you like the guy, make the first move and hold his hand. He might be too shy, but you have to break the ice.

4. Don't talk too much. Girls have a habit of talking more, but give your guy a chance to tell you about himself. If he is shy to talk, ask questions that he would be comfortable asking, like family, hobbies and interests.

5. Whether you hug or not depends on you, so if you feel like hugging your date, don't wait for him to take the call. If however, you don't feel comfortable with a hug, subtly communicate it to him by a firm handshake from your end.
