If you are not someone who believes in popping medicines for every little illness, you are amongst the intelligent few. The human body is certainly not built to induce medicines every now and then. However, there are times when you are under the weather and have to depend on medicines to be treated on time or for relief from the sore throat.

For times like this, we have an herbal medicine that you can prepare at home and pop in, without the harmful effects of Pharmaceutical salts. For the recipe, you would need:

· 1 Cup of sugar
· 1/2 Cup of water
· 1 Tablespoon of honey
· 1/4 Teaspoon of ground cloves
· 1 Tablespoon of lemon juice
· 1/2 Teaspoon of ground ginger

Take a pan, fill it with the given amount of sugar and add water. Add the lemon juice, honey, and ground cloves and let it boil. Stir occassionally to mix it well and make sure that it doesn't stick to the pan. Simmer it until it's dark brown in color. Meanwhile, take a tray and cover it with a baking paper. When the mixture turns dark brown, take a spoon and carefully drop the mixture on a baking paper; one drop would be formed as one tablet. Let them cool down for 15 minutes, and then, sprinkle powdered sugar over them. This would make sure that they don't stick together.

Once they are off the baking paper, mix them well to ensure a nice coat of sugar on each of the tablets them.

You are now done with the process. Place them in a cool and dry place and pop in one tablet when you have a sore throat and common cold.
